For our project 2016 is a very exciting year indeed as we enter the last mile, moving closer to completion. In case you have missed our newly published public deliverables where we report recent results and findings, do not hesitate to have a look at the Downloads page of our website. And of course stay tuned for more to come as the validation and evaluation of the developed GEYSER tools and technology has already started with our 4 real-life pilot test beds gearing up for the finish line.
Ed Boerema from Alticom Datacenters will be attending the IT Room Infra 2015 at Den Bosch, NL: an industry-oriented, national event focused on computer rooms and data centres. Last year, GEYSER was also invited to present its innovative technological and business framework which enables data centres integrate with their ecosystem in the context of smart grids and cities. This year, Ed will be taking a step forward presenting the progress during the second year of the project. In particular, the audience will have the opportunity to witness for themselves the validation of the GEYSER business scenarios and technological tools in the project's real life test bed facilities at Alticom's premises.

Vasiliki Georgiadou from Green IT Amsterdam will be attending the 2015 BISCI Mainland Europe Conference in Amsterdam presenting the latest updates and results of the GEYSER project. This one day event brigs together ICT professionals, including designers, installers and technicians, to discuss, among other things, recent developments on energy efficient solutions for the data centre industry. Maikel Bouricius from Green IT Amsterdam (http://greenitamsterdam.nl/) joinined the Bogota edition of Datacenter Dynamics Converged as a keynote speaker of the event. The speech was on smart cities and in particular how smart cities and energy efficient data centre hubs can become one; reinforcing each other. Naturally, recent findings and developments within the GEYSER project was highlighted and discussed. LINK
GEYSER consortium partners from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca represented the project at the 12th International Conference on Economics of Grids, Clouds, Systems and Services (GECON 2015), held at Cluj-Napoca, RO. Our university partners presented their work on optimizing data centres operation to provide ancillary services on-demand. The paper is available on line at LINK.
Diego Arnone from Engineering I.I. S.p.A. represented the GEYSER project at the workshop "KPI4DC: New Key Performance Indicators for evaluating DC energy sustainability". The workshop organized by the Cluster in the context of the ICT4S Conference brought together researchers and professionals mainly experienced in green and efficient data centres. In particular, Diego talked about the objectives and recent achievements of the Project and described the plans for pilots that are going to prove the benefits of the GEYSER solution as well as the validity of some of the metrics proposed by the cluster. The discussion focused on test scenarios and related affected metrics.
